Afternoon Break
After a busy and lackluster weekend
filled with completing some year end accounting,
and having to go to the hospital to get an MRI and xrays,
I was really looking forward to the week starting.
Hopeful that the week was going to be filled
with some fun activities...
My bright spot for this cold Monday was
taking a break from the studio to bake some bread,
when I noticed how shining and white
the new kitchen can seem when the sun is streaming in.
It is a simple recipe:
1-1/2 tsp yeast
1-1/2 tsp sugar
1-1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups warm water {not above 118 degrees F}
3-4 cups of flour {can subsitute 1 c whole wheat flour}
Mix it all together.
Let the dough rise until it doubles,
beat down and form the dough as you would like
round or oblong let rise 15-20 mins,
while forming dough get some water boiling on stove.
Pour boiling water into shallow pan is lowest rack of oven,
place dough in rack above and set oven to 400 degrees F,
set timer for 35 -40 minutes
