Borrowing Tools
Last weekend I found myself in the Capital Hill area of Washington, DC. My friend and co-worker, Patrick, and his wife live in a great little 12 ft wide row house. They have been remodeling it (really a full gut) into a lovely pearl of a home. Being that he is an architect and she is an interior designer, it is full of fun and thoughtful design elements. This was my first visit to their house, and it was great visiting it as I have been following their progress via their blog "What Were We Thinking". I think they were thinking the right things and will be continue to enjoy and value the house they have made a home.
The reason I was visiting on an early Saturday morning was to borrow a 7-1/4" circular saw. I had some house projects I wanted to complete over the weekend that needed the assistance of such a tool. It was a fun weekend of sawing, drilling, and building some shelving for our hall storage closet. I also cut down some butcher block countertop for some salvaged cabinets I had for my painting studio.
Here are some photos of their neighborhood, which is a really great one. I live in Alexandria and really love it, however every so often I dream of living the city life...
