a year full of sweet dreams, bouquets, and quiet moments captured in paint

This new series of still-life paintings is inspired by common objects that, when observed in a new way, hopefully present a window into a world that is recognizably our own.
All paintings will be completed from life, so depending on the lasting qualities of the subject matter, each painting will either be completed alla prima or over a series of days enabling the use of glazes. Each composition will be 8" x 8" (20.3 x 20.3 cm) in size and presented framed.
Every Monday, throughout the year, a new painting is posted to my blog and auctioned for sale, with 25% of the net proceeds going to the American Horticultural Society (AHS)*. I hope you join me in celebrating the year and supporting AHS.

*This series was developed and conceived by me, the artist, and all connections to the American Horticultural Society (AHS) is done on an individual basis. I will donate 25% of the net proceeds from each sale of a painting in this series. To be clear, by “net proceeds” I mean the money which I actually receive, calculated after e-commerce fees.
